Built-in beds, desks, wardrobes with a mezzanine and furniture that can be moved around as the child grows.
A child’s room is the only room you have to design twice: for now and for five years’ time. Furniture bought for a four-year-old usually no longer fits by the tenth birthday.
- A desk the full width of the alcove, or under the window, with room for legs and equipment.
- A wardrobe with the rail at two heights: a lower one so the child can reach it, and a higher one that stays for later.
- A built-in bed with drawers for bedding, or with a mezzanine.
- Loft-slope units in the attic.
