Concept, visualisations and working drawings from the same maker who then builds the furniture.
Interior design and furniture making are usually two different firms. The designer draws, the joiner quotes, and then it turns out that the units on the drawing cannot be built, or cost twice what the client assumed. That is when the redrawing starts, and someone has to pay for it.
With us the drawing is done by the same maker who then builds it. If something cannot be done, or can be done cheaper for the same effect, we say so at the concept stage, not after installation.
What can you order?
- The interior design alone – you can take it to any maker, it does not commit you to ordering the furniture from us.
- Design together with the build – one firm answers for the whole thing.
- Furniture for a finished design – we quote and build it without reworking someone else’s concept.
What does the design include?
We can prepare production drawings for the furniture alone, or a wider design for the whole interior. We agree the scope before we start, because both the price and the lead time follow from it.
A furniture design includes:
- an as-built survey and measurement of the room,
- floor plans and elevations of each wall,
- exact dimensions of the unit,
- layout of cabinets, shelves and internal fittings,
- the materials, colours and hardware specified,
- positions of appliances, services and lighting,
- 3D visualisations,
- the production drawings needed to build it.
How long does the design take?
Usually 7–14 working days from the survey and receiving the full set of information. The upper end applies to whole interiors, the lower – to a single unit.
The price depends on the size of the interior and the scope, so we agree it individually before we start – together with whether the design is paid for separately or included in the price of the furniture.
